Morrie's Interview

I think Morrie had a lot of courage to go on air live and tell the world that he was dying. He shared his story and some advice with everyone who listened. He used to be so dependent of himself and now he can't do anything by himself, he gave up the privacy and everything so others could help him live out his life to the fullest. He rarely got depressed, he wanted to think of the positive things in life. I wouldn't be able to have that courage if I knew that I only had awhile longer to live. I would be wallowing in it most likely and not being able to focus on the positive things like Morrie did.

Morrie had given out good advice for people to follow and to try and help people live their lives without regrets and the negative things. Morrie was an up beat type of person. Actually getting to hear his voice, see what he looked like, and knowing that he isn't making any of this up or that it isn't on script that it is truly him talking about his life and his death is amazing. I got a whole different perspective on him and his life after watching that video. I can't feel sorry for him because he makes me happy to know that he is not one of those people who expect sympathy when something bad is happening in their life. I am happy because even though he is dying, he cares for others still, he still himself, he is trying to help others out, and he is still living his life and not just giving up because of the fact that he is dying.

  1. I think you are really hitting a key point here, that Morrie is a pretty selfless person. He doesn't wallow in his own issues, but instead pours his energy and spirit into those around him. His story is inspiring and heartfelt because of it and it seems to me that you are grasping that from reading your response. - Mr. Toland
